A long time ago, in a galaxy not so far away...
Trendy young and not so youngs gays reigned Hamburg. Those who haven't been "gifted" with size S, hairless chests and a famous hairdresser had to carve their miserable bear-existence alone in their homes.
But even the guys who loved a big belly and tons of hairs all over the body had to take a stick and where awfully unhappy.
But a small group of heavy weighted mavericks wasn't willing to hide themselfs and offered resistance, started in a well known local bar.
So it happened 1998, in a cold winternight, that 60 brave guys meet at the "Willi's" and formed the "bears & friends!" meeting.
And not long after this, the first Bearparty, called originally "Bärenpaadiiee", took place with hundreds of well built, furry and cuddly bears, who all left their hides to show that they are existing!
Nowadays the "Bärenpaadiiee" is one of the larger bear events through the year in Germany. It opens the year in early January, right after christmas time ends and year after year up to 1000 bears and friends from all over Germany and Europe.
Moreover the Nordbären organize - beside the Bärenpaadiie - hiking tours, BBQs, regular drinks, sauna days, a bear-truck on the Hamburg-Pride parade, special seasional meals and much more.
If you like, you are invited to join us at our famous Aspargus meal in June, or at our BBQ on the meadows at the river Elbe. We are sure that one or more of our events will please you and bring you in contact with other bears and friends.
